It
is generally true that the stronger the relationship between seller and buyer,
the easier the sale. In our consultative selling training programs we certainly
devote time to key modules on trust and relationship building competencies.
There
is every reason to believe that, if applied to an online relationship, the same
axiom will apply.
Here
are three ways to build bonds with your customers…even if the entire
relationship is virtual.
- Be Simple and Compelling. Introduce yourself and your product/service with simple messages delivered in a friendly, informative tone. This is how your customer can get to know you and what your company stands for.
- Add Value Every Time. Follow up with content that will be of value to your customer. Can you offer an introductory trial or educational articles? Pay attention to what they choose to better understand what interests them and what matters as they consider a buying decision.
- Go Above and Beyond. Respond with more…more of what they like and more of what they buy. This is your chance to provide more personalized products and services.
